SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The submission of an extended abstract offers a valuable opportunity to provide a comprehensive exposition of your innovative project within the International Language & Education Invention, Innovation, Design & Exposition (ILEIID) 2025. To facilitate a rigorous and consistent review process, please adhere to the following guidelines in preparing your submission: 


- Be Comprehensive Yet Concise
- Start with a Punchy Introduction
- Detail Your Methodology
- Showcase Your Results (if applicable)
- Highlight the Innovation's Novelty
- Discuss the Potential Impact
- Briefly Touch on Commercialisation (if relevant)
- Follow Formatting Standards
- Include Keywords
- Cite Your Sources (if any)


FORMAT

Length: Typically 3-4 pages
Font: Times New Roman
Line Spacing: Single-spaced
Alignment: Justified
Keywords: Include 3-5 relevant keywords below the abstract. Italicize the label "Keywords:" followed by the keywords
File Format: Submit your extended abstract as a PDF (.pdf) file to ensure formatting consistency across different systems
Visuals (if applicable): If including tables or figures, ensure they are clear, properly labelled, and referenced within the text. Place them as close as possible to their first mention

Extended Abstract Outline


Abstract

  • Formatting: Single paragraph, italicised (optional), typically 200-250 words.
  • Content: Briefly summarise the research question/problem, key methodology, main findings (if applicable), and the significance/implications of your innovation.

Introduction

  • Purpose: Set the stage for your innovation. Introduce the broad area of your work within language and/or education.
  • Content: Clearly articulate the specific problem, challenge, or gap that your innovation aims to address. Explain why this issue is significant and warrants attention.
Objectives

  • Purpose: State the precise goals and intended outcomes of your innovation. These should be measurable and directly linked to the problem statement.
  • Content: Clearly list what your innovation seeks to achieve.
Product Descriptions and Methodology

  • Purpose: Detail what your innovation is and how you developed it or how it functions.
  • Content: Provide a clear description of your product/invention's core features and functionalities. Follow this with an explanation of the research design, development process, materials, or methods used to create or test your innovation.
Potential Findings and Commercialisation

  • Purpose: Present the key outcomes of your work and discuss its real-world applicability.
  • Content: Summarise significant findings or results obtained from your innovation (if applicable). Discuss the practical implications and potential for your innovation to be implemented, adopted, or scaled in a commercial or broader educational context.
Novelty and Recommendations

  • Purpose: Highlight the unique aspects of your innovation and suggest future directions.
  • Content: Clearly articulate what makes your innovation original and distinct from existing solutions. Conclude with recommendations for future development, research, or potential applications of your work.
References

  • Formatting: Follow a consistent citation style (APA 7th Edition) for all cited sources. List all references alphabetically at the end
  • Content: Include a complete list of all sources you cited within your extended abstract, ensuring accuracy and adherence to your chosen citation style
